F&G Annuities & Life: IUL and fixed indexed annuities from the same shelf
by InsuraCentralStaff22d ago2 views
F&G shows up in both the IUL and the annuity conversation, and agents who write one often end up writing the other.
IUL. Indexed universal life designed for accumulation and death benefit, with index options, caps and the usual charge structure. Illustrate conservatively and design under the MEC line for income cases.
Annuities. Fixed indexed annuities with income rider options and multi-year guaranteed annuities have been a large part of the business. Rates, caps and rider fees change frequently; quote from the current rate sheet.
Where it fits. Clients moving from a low-yield savings vehicle who want either an accumulation life policy or guaranteed income later.
Suitability. Annuity applications go through suitability review; write a clear rationale.
Process. E-applications on both lines, underwriting for the IUL, suitability review for annuities.
Client conversation. Less familiar than the biggest names; the ratings and the product structure carry the conversation.
Are you placing F&G more on the IUL side or the annuity side this year, and why?
